A private investigator has been hired by the Dodge Brothers, a law firm in the small town of Gamwell, to find one of their clients, a Mr. Arthur Cornthwaite. Mr. Cornthwaite owns a mansion outside of Gamwell known as the Fitzgerald Manse. He has not been seen for almost two weeks, and his lawyers are beginning to wonder if some ill fate has found Mr. Cornthwaite. The investigators are again back at the Sorrow’s Glen dig site, but not of their own volition. They discover that they have apparently excavated the mound at the location and have found a fissure in the ground leading into a subterranean cavern. After heading to Hob’s Gap in an effort to investigate the strange sleepwalking incidents occurring at the Sorrow’s Glen, the investigators took rooms at a bed and breakfast and made the acquaintance of a local sheriff looking into the matter as well. Teaming up, they interviewed several locals and made a trip to the dig site. After interviewing several people including the alleged witch Hazel Cobb, a strange sense comes over the group.
